The roles that I am currently engaged in as well as Director for Surrey Coalition are as Vision Impairment Lead, Vice-Chair of the Empowerment Board – Mid Surrey, Vice-Chair of the Surrey Vision Action Group and an active member of other forums such as:
- Surrey Access Forum
- Surrey Dial-a-Ride Forum
- Progress in Sight Steering Group
- Equality and Diversity Steering Group
My involvement with the SCoDP has been assisted through training courses, which include:
- Travel Trainers Training
- Presentation Skills Training
- Equality Impact Training
- Generic Campaigning (RNIB)
I have held Management roles in Social Work, including managing residential resources for children and young people in several London Boroughs and in Denmark. During this sixteen year career, I gained the Certificate of Qualification in Social Work CQSW (1983). I have also worked for ten years for Transport for London within their Dial-a-Ride division, working as an Administration Support Officer, which also involved direct work with service users.
