Director - Roger Blishen


Roger has moderate to severe brain damage as a result of a high speed (120 mph.) head on road traffic collision in 1986. His verbal/current memory is still severely impaired.

Roger has been actively and voluntarily involved with Disabled Peoples’ organisations and issues in SW Surrey for many years. He is Chairman of the SW Surrey Delivering Empowerment Board. He was a founder member of this Board in 2003, as its Headway Guildford Representative, a position he still holds. Roger also sits on several Focus Groups, Neurological Pathway, Adult CQC Monitoring, and has formally contributed to many Government and Council etc. consultations with the Coalition, SW Surrey DE Board, and others.

Roger has been a Member of Headway Guildford/Surrey since 1986/1989and is also an Abbeyfield Society volunteer and a Samaritan’s Purse volunteer. He is also the local Neighbourhood Watch (NW) Area Coordinator having set the scheme up in 1986, and has since been instrumental in setting up several others locally.

Overall Roger is experienced in many of the matters covered by the Surrey Coalition.
